From Calais take A16 to Boulogne. Continue past Le Touquet to Abbeville where you will join the A28 to Rouen. When approaching Rouen you will be met by signs for various motorways. IGNORE these signs and follow signs for Rouen (A13 Paris, Le Mans). You will go through lots of traffic lights and big railway sidings on your right. At the end you will meet a roundabout with plastic cows in the middle. You will see now signs for Paris/Evereux A13. You are heading for Evereux on the N154. The first part is toll (E1.80). After Evereux follow signs for Dreux, stay on the N154 up to another roundabout where you meet the N12 to Alencon. You must turn right in the direction of Nonancourt/Alencon, stay on the N12 to Verneuil where you will find a reasonable Rest stop, a pink coloured restaurant with parking on your right (not sure if it is open during the night, (we passed it at about 22.30 and there were still lights on).
Fron Alencon take the motorway A28 to LeMans. Go right round the roundabout till you see the Peage (toll). When approaching LeMans you see signs for A11. Follow the sign saying Nantes A11. Stay on the A11 past LeMans, following signs for Angers. After J. 12 take the A85 marked Tours/Saumur. Leave motorway at J.3 Saumur (Toll E12.00).
Go N147 to Poitiers, then join the D938 in the direction of Niort. Stay on this road following the directions for Niort for about ½-3/4 hr. and you will see a turning on your right marked Glenay. The next turning then is for Boussais/Airvault. Come off at this exit, you will now be on the D725, turn right and Boussais is about 3km – go through the tiny village of Boussais and 1/4mile down the road turn right at the second cross roads where there is a sign ‘Le Moulin’, 100meters before the small bridge over the river Thouret. If you go over that little bridge you have gone a little too far. In fact from the bridge you may, if you arrive in the night, see the lights dotted in the garden, at night probably the only lights to be seen anywhere.
